The Meaning of Indoor Cat
I can’t remember exactly when I was first referred to as an “indoor cat” (part of me chooses to believe I came up with this myself but maybe that’s wishful thinking that I’m that clever).
Basically, I like indoor activities and pastimes. I make art, I read books, I watch movies and enjoy yoga. My skin is the colour of Elmer’s Glue because I refuse to acknowledge the sun. This isn’t to say I won’t take part in a day hike, or spend an afternoon on a patio it just isn’t my preference.
I also really like animals. As I’m sure you have noticed a lot of my work features animals (AND indoor things – I really know my personal brand). I have an indoor cat as a pet, he is a friendly and patient tuxedo named Eggnog. Frankly, he is an indoor cat by his own choice not just mine. There have been a few occasions where we have left him outside accidentally and he sits and waits by the door crying to be let back in so he can hide from the harsh reality of nature. I taught him that!
Long story short, I like cats and I like being indoors.
All that said, please do not stop inviting me to your outdoor activities. I’ll probably still attend and even enjoy myself despite my best efforts.
